I made it!

I've made to Bradford from London. G met me at the train station with flowers and we had the full Hollywood " lovers meeting after months apart "greeting. Everything has worked out as had dreamed. Mmm.

I spent one night in London at a youth hostel. More on that later. My first activity was to visit Bucking ham Palace for the changing of the guard. It was quite a show. I love the pomp and circumstance of the royal family. After the palace I went to Hyde Park. There was a German Christmas festival in full swing. While it was not what I was expecting it was quite fun.

After the carnival and some German beer I wandered to the Marble Arch. You know it's just a marble arch left over from olden days. Okay. Past the marble arch is oxford st for shopping. The boxing day sales were incredible and the stores were packed. People were actually queuing to get inside shop. Being broke and disadvantaged with the exchange rate I could ony stand on the pathway and watch the craziness.

Okay, i'm tired of typing. I met G's oldest son last night. He's a cutie and gave his dad his approval. I should meet G's mum and daughter later this week.

Happy Winter Solstice

It's the official first day of winter and the shortest day of the year. I'm getting ready for my trip to England to visit Glenn and meet his family. Of course there's plenty of drama all around and even though I've planned this trip since JUNE I'm still not ready. So the next few days will be filled with packing and cleaning, unpacking and repacking, stressing and overthinking, and on Thursday night my brother will leave me at the airport. After a cocktail or two I'll get on that plane and find out if the fairytale has a happy ending or goes horribly wrong.

Here's the technical stuff:

Flight 102 departing DTW on 12/25 at 6:15 P.M., arriving at LHR (Heathrow) at 7:00 A.M. on 12/26. Since there are no trains on Boxing Day I'm spending the night in London at a hostel. I'll have a special entry all about that I'm sure. My train gets into Leeds at 12:35 on 12/27 and I'll call/text/e-mail all of you so you know that Glenn did in fact pick me up.

I had such hopes of everything being in place by today so I could chill for the rest of the week. Maybe it will all come together tomorrow night. West Coast Crew expect some calls.

Thanks to all of you for listening to this saga. Sorry I can't do anything the easy way but what fun would that be?

Happy Solstice, Happy Chanukkah and Happy Christmas.

PS The slideshow on the blog is just a default. I'll add cool pictures later.
